Can anyone explain why "Mr Hudson" got to perform live at this years MOBO awards (from Glasgow), and why he in particular is relevant to "Music Of Black Origin"?
"He recently worked with the best producer in Hip Hop Kayne West" ok (and you are?)
"infact, he and Kanye are so tight, that Mr West even signed him to his own record label Good Music" right..
"Yeah, the man's definitely a talent" is he nominated for anything?
"not only has he got one of the best songs on the new Jay-Z album but his album is coming out on blah blah, he's MY mate" the emphasis on MY is high praise indeed Reggie, I bet he is THRILLED.
The Mr Hudson performance raises an important question about what Music Of Black Origin is - it's a bit of a cliche because all modern music stems from rhytmn and blues doesn't it, so absolutely anything could be argued to be "MOBO" couldn't it? Ah no, its to reward people that are "performing black music" - but what is this exactly? Why is Mr Hudson performing "black music" when any other average white male solo artist isn't? Jay-Z covers Wonderwall now and again, so could Noel Gallagher perform next year - maybe from Manchester?
